I don’t Quite Even Know What to Call This..0

Okay well this weekend I saw what quite possibly could be one of the funniest movies in a long time; Little Miss Sunshine.

 Official movies.com summary:

‘The Hoover family (Alan Arkin, Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Greg Kinnear and Paul Dano) and their 7-year-old, Olive (Abigail Breslin), travel from Albuquerque, N.M., to the Little Miss Sunshine pageant in Redondo Beach, Calif.’
If you havent heard of it, you should rent it. The movie is based on a horribly dysfonctional family. The fathers a motivation speaker about being a winner or loser, the mother is a smoker, the uncle is homosexual who contemplated suicide, the son Dwyane whose taken a vow of silence until he gets into airforce academy, grandpa whose a complete and utter druggie, and olive the little girl competing in a beauty pageant; little miss sunshine. This movie may come across as  a compelling oscar-boringish drama packed with tears-and-determination, but really it’s not like that. This is seriously one of the funniest dramas that I’ve ever seen. It’s rated ‘R’ but so what? Get out of your prude little shell and watch something real, watch something funny, watch something good !!

Here’s a clip of Olives performance; dont watch it if you want to ‘hide the suspence‘ but this is seriously the funniest part once you’ve seen the whole thing… enjoy :)

It’s pretty much a hazard for everyone…  so basically because I dont wanna break my bones (well it’s mostly because im just that lazy), I think I have the right to stay home. Im tired and it’s not like i skip or anything.. we all deserve a break!!

Look at Me Im a Mee0

  1. Meez

The second site I chose is www.meez.com They call themselves ‘Your 3D ID’. The only real thing that you do on this site is create yourself a person. This person can look like whatever you choose. Do you want to be emo, punk or prep? Well it’s all up to you. You choose from what seems like hundreds of tops and bottoms, some hairstyles, makeup, an action and background.

The way it works is you create an account. This begins with choosing your gender (guy or girl). Next you choose your appearance; hairstyle, skin colour, top, bottom, shoes, action and background. All before you sign up, which is good in some ways because you’re trying it out much like you’d do with a product. After you complete that, you fill out a nickname, a password, your birthday, country and you type what you see in a box below (a word). I understand that sort of protection for things like Ticketmaster so you can get your computer to get tickets for you, but this site? There can’t be that much of a demand.

Anybody who likes expression and creating somebody to represent them will like this site. However, if you are someone who likes sites like Habbo Hotel and Coke Music might be unsatisfied not because of the creation process (which is fun and has pretty good graphics) but the fact that there’s no chat like Habbo where you walk in a virtual chat room. If you aren’t easily bored, you’ll like this site as well.

As much as I was surprised, www.meez.com doesn’t really promote communication. It really promotes creativity and expression which people my age are pretty into (we hate this whole idea of classification and when people don’t get us). This site does however allow you to share your creations. They allow you to link your ‘Mee’ to your Myspace or blog (like even Learnerblogs) which alone are communication sites. Meez.com does have a forum to chat on but most teens have Myspace or MSN to do that on so why bother?

This site does solve the issue of expression by allowing people to recreate themselves online without showing your own photo which is good for those who are paranoid about they’re safety (completely understanding). It allows you to be yourself, although people might abuse that. Because you aren’t one-on-one or face-to-face, you can practically be anyone. In a way, you can create yourself to be someone that you aren’t. That’s a personal choice though.

This site will have problems in the future because once you’re done creating your person; there isn’t anything else to do! If you’re one of those people who sits on chat rooms (nothing wrong with that) then you may still be satisfied with their forums, but for everyone else, you’re out of luck. This is a big problem because people will get bored of this site, and will not recommend it to others. Hopefully in the long run this will change but for now, it’s not that exciting. Also, you have to pay for some items. Why? Well who wouldn’t want to make some money off their sites? I think that that will turn people off of the site because everyone loves to have stuff for FREEJ.

Do I like this site? Ya, I guess. It’s cool because you get to create a person to represent you. I’m all for expression; it’s something I like to do whether it’s through music or writing or even creating in this case. However, after I’m all done with the creating process, there’s absolutely NOTHING else to do which is pretty boring. I dread forking out money for anything (I’m a saver, not a spender) so to have to pay for clothes and hairstyles seems like a total waste of money to me. I wouldn’t even pay for Habbo stuff but at least there you get furniture and apartments and what not. Here you get nothing.

My Recommendation: this site might have better looking people, but seriously go to Habbo or Cokemusic because there’s WAY MORE to do there.

Just in case you were curious, here’s my mee

All Hail Music :)2

  1.  iLike

More like iLove!

This site is www.ilike.com and let me just say, if you are a music lover, you will more than like this site! This site is practically dedicated to music both mainstream and independent. It allows you to compare, discover and get a new appreciation for the music you listen to!

It’s about sharing your picks, discovering new bands & artists. This site also has people comparing their choices to others, chatting about music, and even getting music recommended to you based upon your preferences! You can download iLike onto your computer and if you have iTunes, iLike will upload your playlists (Top 25, Recently Added, Highest Rated… etc) and compare those to others. This site is also quite easy to use. Signing up for an account is extremely easy, even the computer-challenged people can do it. All you have to enter when you sign up is your email, a password of your choice, your name and your postal code. The site even has a tour for those who tend to get lost on the internet (I know so many people who do!).

Music lovers, inspiring musicians, and anyone who just wants to hear something new besides all that Top 40 crap (no offence) would be interested in iLike.com because of all the music sharing and new undiscovered music that you can share. I think that iLike.com definitely promotes communication. Music to me is an amazing way to communicate your feelings and thoughts to millions of people everywhere. Artists deliver to their audiences what they’re feeling and try to relate to other people. Independent bands/artists share their music through free downloads to get their music out there and members share their own feelings about the music and share their picks which might influence others to try something new.

It will solve a problem that is constantly irritating me; what should I listen to? I mean, I get sick of hearing certain songs on the radio all the time and sometimes I would just rather listen to something new. iLike.com gives me recommendations that actually pertain to my style of music which is very broad. It also aides up and coming artists in promoting themselves and getting themselves one step closer to fame. Artists that in maybe a few years you’ll be like, ‘I listened to them’.

There are no real problems with iLike.com right now, but in the long run, they will need to add more. In my generation, we are always looking for more as if nothing can quite satisfy us. We like convenience which might cause problems as more sites like this are sure to come and compete for the attention of the music world. I think that this site can survive without more because like us, music changes and new genres emerge so there’s nothing to get bored of.

Why do I like it? The real question is, ‘Why wouldn’t I like it?’ this site is dedicated to something that I love; music. Music is the foundation of who I am. This site taps into that love and foundation and is just great for someone like me. I love to discover new music and download new music which this site provides. It’s a way for me to express which I absolutely love to do! I am glad that I got to discover it because I know for sure that I’ll use it in the future! I have it downloaded at home and I might just recommend it to friends.

My recommendation: There’s nothing else out there that can even compare to ilike.com. It allows you to express, discover, interact, and learn to love any music whether mainstream or independent. Definitely give it a shot, I guarantee that you will enjoy it J.

Heres The Cartoon [FINALLY!!]1

Sorry that it took so long :( My bad, but you wouldn’t beleive how difficult it is to find a site that supports my file [its freakishly huge]. Well Enjoy :)

Jacks Mannequin - The Mixed Tape

**BIG SUGGESTION** if you’ve already tried watching the video, you NEED the volume up. My video totally relies on the song and without it, you’ll be confused. and also.. Click the Green button ONCE and only once or the music will start over and wont match the video… so just dont.

What Is Communication??2

>>Communication<<

The imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs

Who wants to read boring and endless definitions on things that occur in our daily life? *groans* Not me, not even a little bit. Communication is huge in our lives, from the age of telegraphs and radio to the internet and

MSN , everyone on Earth communicates. The question is— how?  I’m going to explore that…

What surprised me when I began researching was the endless ways to communicate! It’s pretty overwhelming how many ways we can share information. I can’t even name how many ways there is to communicate, and these days, it can be anywhere in anyway. With portable devices like cell phones, blackberry’s and laptops, the simplest of communication (verbal, words, pictures) can be done even quicker and more conveniently.

It was pretty interesting to find that communication began with cave paintings, something non vocal. I guess when you live in such a high tech lifestyle; you think that it is the only way to live.  But to me, these ways of communicating through artwork is very practical in a time where there were no languages which to me when I started this research, seemed like the one easiest way to communicate.  Even centuries and centuries ago, letters were the practical solution to for informing and passing information. The funny thing is, the only things that I send or get sent to me are birthday cards; it’s like mailing is too slow for our fast and changing society which is sad that something so personal is turning into convenient emails.

As the years went by, a brilliant man named

Thomas Edison invested possibly the simplest way to communicate; the phone.  In my parent’s generation, the phone was a girl’s best friend. Too bad that was replaced with MSN and myspace, a shame really, because I find that verbal communication is personal and caring when responding to arguments or complements.

Tony Fadell a name that you wouldn’t know off the top of your head, invented what I consider my life; the Ipod. Packed with 200 to almost 15000 songs, it holds the soundtrack of my life. I consider music a huge influence in my life and communicates so much in just three to four minutes. I was amazed to discover that since 2002, this sensation has sold itself; approximately 60,000,000 Ipods have been sold. Now that’s communication!!

Even today, billion dollar companies like

Myspace,

Youtube and MSN have people of all ages glued to their computer chairs, me being one of them.  From personal experience, online communication is very informal and very dangerous if you are not careful.  A controversial move by politians in the USA passed a bill instating for schools and libraries to prevent children and teens from accessing sites such as Myspace. Personally, I think that something drastic like a law won’t prevent kids because there are so many ways to hack and get passed restrictions.

I even was surprised although it was very obvious how one of the biggest influences in modern life communicates indirectly; the media. Do we watch an hour-long show, or nine minutes of commercials and fifty-one minutes of a show? It is funny how commercials feel so much longer than intended. You could be watching a great episode of

Greys Anatomy (that’s what I’m doing) and then BOOM, you’re watching a Swedish man reject food from an average restaurant and choose Wendy’s (I laugh every time I see that commercial).  It’s frustrating, but extremely effective when it gets down to sales.  The media affects every aspect of our lives; what we eat, what we wear, where we go, and who we are. As much as we want to reject that influence, it happens even when we don’t notice. So you better get used to it, media will always be there, infecting your brain.

Reflecting on what I have discovered showed me how more convenient communication has gotten; it has come a long way from cave paintings but even our current technology will change and in even ten years, MSN will be the thing of the past and something new will be infecting our brains. Enjoy it while you can…

My Celebrity Look-Alike1

So I heard about this ‘Face Recognition’ on myheritage.com and I was curious, “Who do I look like?”. So I tried the test, being skeptical of course. I mean you never know what might come up, Michael Jackson perhaps *puke*… or maybe George Bush *puke*?? You get the idea…

 I used this picture..

) a little small.. but whatever..

and I got some results.. interesting and some just down right hilarious!

For females..

72% Jamie Lynn Spears (Britney Spears’ little sister)

64% Kristin Davis (Sex and the City)

61% BoA (a japanese singer.. dont really know)

61% Alexis Bedel (Gilmore Girls)

59% Angelina Jolie (WOW, we look alike, AT ALL??)

58% Alyson Hannigan (American Pie, :p)

and Males (aha I wasnt ready for this one…)

63% Harry Houdini (sorry but ew)

62% Jon Secada (?)

59% Fujiki Naohito (Tokyo Drift??)

So looking at that, I was pretty surprised. Jamie Lynn, 72%? I personally dont see a huge ressemblence, but computers are apparently smarter that us…

Some real shockers were Alexis Bedel and Angelina Jolie… them being so gorgeous and really, I dont look like them at all.. Im sure if you saw me, you wouldn’t be all like “OMG ITS ANGELINA JOLIE!!”. So that was surprising and very relieving that at least they were gorgeous celebs.. :)

I was SOO relieved to not find Bush or Michael Jackson.. but c’mon, HOUDINI? Seriously google him or something and MAN, I don’t think I look like him..

It was interesting to see so many different people.. people that you would never expect.. EVER!!

I suggest you try this out:
