All Hail Music :)

  1.  iLike

More like iLove!

This site is www.ilike.com and let me just say, if you are a music lover, you will more than like this site! This site is practically dedicated to music both mainstream and independent. It allows you to compare, discover and get a new appreciation for the music you listen to!

It’s about sharing your picks, discovering new bands & artists. This site also has people comparing their choices to others, chatting about music, and even getting music recommended to you based upon your preferences! You can download iLike onto your computer and if you have iTunes, iLike will upload your playlists (Top 25, Recently Added, Highest Rated… etc) and compare those to others. This site is also quite easy to use. Signing up for an account is extremely easy, even the computer-challenged people can do it. All you have to enter when you sign up is your email, a password of your choice, your name and your postal code. The site even has a tour for those who tend to get lost on the internet (I know so many people who do!).

Music lovers, inspiring musicians, and anyone who just wants to hear something new besides all that Top 40 crap (no offence) would be interested in iLike.com because of all the music sharing and new undiscovered music that you can share. I think that iLike.com definitely promotes communication. Music to me is an amazing way to communicate your feelings and thoughts to millions of people everywhere. Artists deliver to their audiences what they’re feeling and try to relate to other people. Independent bands/artists share their music through free downloads to get their music out there and members share their own feelings about the music and share their picks which might influence others to try something new.

It will solve a problem that is constantly irritating me; what should I listen to? I mean, I get sick of hearing certain songs on the radio all the time and sometimes I would just rather listen to something new. iLike.com gives me recommendations that actually pertain to my style of music which is very broad. It also aides up and coming artists in promoting themselves and getting themselves one step closer to fame. Artists that in maybe a few years you’ll be like, ‘I listened to them’.

There are no real problems with iLike.com right now, but in the long run, they will need to add more. In my generation, we are always looking for more as if nothing can quite satisfy us. We like convenience which might cause problems as more sites like this are sure to come and compete for the attention of the music world. I think that this site can survive without more because like us, music changes and new genres emerge so there’s nothing to get bored of.

Why do I like it? The real question is, ‘Why wouldn’t I like it?’ this site is dedicated to something that I love; music. Music is the foundation of who I am. This site taps into that love and foundation and is just great for someone like me. I love to discover new music and download new music which this site provides. It’s a way for me to express which I absolutely love to do! I am glad that I got to discover it because I know for sure that I’ll use it in the future! I have it downloaded at home and I might just recommend it to friends.

My recommendation: There’s nothing else out there that can even compare to ilike.com. It allows you to express, discover, interact, and learn to love any music whether mainstream or independent. Definitely give it a shot, I guarantee that you will enjoy it J.
